NICKELBACK Canadian rockstars Nickelback will return to the UK this autumn before they begin work on their sixth album, which is due for release in 2009 through Roadrunner Records. The tour will include their very first show at the O2 Arena in London. Frontman Chad Kroegar is looking forward to being back in the UK, stating "We can’t wait to get to the UK and give our fans the Nickelback show they deserve!" Tour Dates: - A DAY TO REMEMBER A Day To Remember are returning to the UK this summer for 'The Road To Download Tour'. The band, who have just re-issued their album 'For Those Who Have Heart' will be supported by The Devil Wears Prada and Alesana. Their UK tour will be followed up by the 'Warped Tour' and 'Bamboozle Festival' in the US. A Day To Remember are planning to have their new studio album out this October with more dates to come. Tour Dates: - PAPER AND PLASTICK Less Than Jake co-founder/drummer and co-founder of Fueled By Ramen Records Vinnie Fiorello has announced the launch of his latest project, an indie label with an artistically-imagined direction called Paper and Plastick Records. Coupling the album releases with limited edition artwork (and, if applicable, plastic toys) designed specifically with the album artwork as inspiration, Vinnie will be issuing the releases as digital downloads and 12" vinyl albums. On the new label he commented: "Paper and plastic are the source materials of my releases, if you think about it, prints and books are the paper side, while vinyl records and toys are the plastic side. It's a simple and to-the-point concept. First and foremost, the world has enough labels signing pop bands, Paper and Plastick doesn't need to since it will focus on the visual side of music - collector vinyl, vinyl toys, limited edition art prints, books, and most importantly, bands I love and respect. When a label is small, it can focus on projects and not have to mobilize a dozen or so people. There are so many bands that I run into nowadays that seem to be in this vacuum of modern music, far away from Teen Pop and Nu Metal, not wanting to sign to a major and tired of self-releasing. It's those bands, from old friends and new friends, whose music I want to release." Launching on May 13, 2008, Paper and Plastick boasts three new releases: Richmond, VA's Landmines self-titled debut, former Anathallo frontman Andrew Dost's concept album Columbus, and the Explosion's final recording, Bury Me Standing. BRET MICHAELS Bret Michaels, Poison frontman and VH1's "Rock of Love" star, is taking his show on the road with his solo band in a series of nationwide concerts. In the midst of starring in his #1 VH1 reality show "Rock of Love" hot rocking bachelor Bret Michaels will bring both his solo music and Poison classics to the road in concert playing to packed houses from coast-to-coast. A brand new solo album titled “Rock My World” is set to be released in April. MODERNIST MOVEMENT Producer, Brian Virtue (Jane's Addiction, Deftones, 30 Seconds To Mars) and industry veteran, Jean Lazarus, have launched a new label/partnership company, Modernist Movement. Modernist Movement has thrown out all of the rules from yesterday's music industry. Every artist will have their own partnership with the company and that partnership will have its own unique expectations of each other. Filling the void where the DIY band can get overwhelmed with how to make the next step and where signed artists get stuck with the conflicting agendas of the people they do business with. Modernist Movement shares in the artists concerns for their career in the greater long-term picture. The first two releases from Modernist Movement will be Nashville based bands Look What I Did and Born Empty. Both releases are produced by Modernist Movement's own Brian Virtue. These releases will be available through all major digital outlets, the Modernist Movement online store, at artist's shows and at various specialty record stores around the country. STILL REMAINS Roadrunner records are saddened to announce that Michigan metallers Still Remains have split up. We've decided to make this US headlining tour our last as Still Remains and Cornerstone Festival our last show. We want to thank all of the wonderful loving people we've met in the past few years for being there for us. It's been an amazing run but we are done for personal reasons. Please come see us on our headlining tour and help us go out with a bang! We are extremely excited to see what the future holds for each and every one of us. So keep your eyes and ears open and God Bless!!!".
