03 PUNK ROCK PAMPERING
How was 2025 for you? As I write this, at the end of
the year, for me, 2025 was nice. Not too fast paced, but 04 THE HARA
with some fun surprises. One of the highlights was going 10 THE RASMUS
to see Bon Jovi in Nashville, back in June, which we cov-
ered in the last Black Velvet. More surprises came about 14 DEAD POSEY
later in the year, when Bon Jovi announced some tour 18 CASSIDY PARIS
dates for 2026, with Jon Bon Jovi heading to the UK to
promote the UK shows. Black Velvet was lucky enough to 22 BON JOVI
attend a press conference at Wembley Stadium, which we 26 ALBUMS
have featured in this issue (the photo below is of me out- 28 CONCERTS
side of Wembley, just before going in for the press con-
ference). While we were in London, we also attended a 50 BIRDMAN PARROT RESCUE
couple of ‘Jon Bon Jovi In Conversation’ events. A few of 52 R.I.P. ACE FREHLEY
the photos from the EMI Records event are in our Bon
Jovi article. It’s always a joy to hear Jon talk about his life
and the band’s history, and it’s great to know that his
voice has recovered from the surgery he had a few years
ago. We’re now looking forward to the 2026 shows.
We had a fairly busy November, gig-wise, compared BV Instagram
to the rest of the year. After the summer festival season,
a lot of bands went out on tour, on their own, in the Follow us on Instagram at @blackvelvetmagazine for more
autumn. We went to see Hot Milk, New Found Glory, The photos and quotes from our interviews.
Subways, Those Damn Crows and RØRY, to name a few.
While we’ve already posted most of the reviews on the
website, you can find them in this issue with larger, and
different, live photos. “It is more important to focus on what you do have and be

artists for the first time. Our contributor Michael has done
the bulk of the interviews in this issue, so huge thanks to
Michael for his time and hard work. He chatted to Cassidy
Paris, from Australia, on Zoom, Finland’s Lauri Ylönen of
The Rasmus, and then America’s Dead Posey at their
show at Camden Underworld. I jumped at the chance to
interview Manchester’s THE HARA, whose sophomore
album, ‘The Fallout’, is released in January. If you haven’t
heard or seen THE HARA, you must. They are outstand-
ing and are sure to take over the world in the future.
We’ll have a break before we start the next issue, but
catch us over on Instagram, Facebook or X in the mean-
time.
