People often ask, “Which came first - the chicken or the egg?” although
we’re currently asking ourselves, which did we hear of first, Goodheart Animal
Sanctuaries or the movie, I Could Never Go Vegan? We can’t quite remember
which one introduced us to the other - but, either way, both are worth knowing
about. We watched the movie, I Could Never Go Vegan, which included some
footage filmed at Goodheart Farm Animal Sanctuary in Kidderminster, Worces-
tershire. Upon seeing the sanctuary in the movie, we knew that we needed to
visit. Our chance came when the sanctuary held an open day, which included
talks, food stalls, other stalls, and, of course, all of the animals to see and
                meet.
Walking up the drive to the sanctuary, you’ll find acres of fields, which
home horses, goats, sheep and more. William, the horse, was the first to greet

in very spacious areas and look very content.
Following the trail around, we eventually came to some
aviaries where we found some chickens, turkeys, and geese.
Susan and Mr. Biggles are two rescued turkeys that live to-

                   The sanctuary sold animal
feed, so we delighted in feeding
some of the goats, sheep and
                cows.
                   Aside from the sanctuary’s
                open day, Goodheart also hold
                sanctuary guided tours and
                have pig experiences, where
                you can meet their rescued
                pigs, hear inspiring rescue sto-
ries and learn about how they
                are cared for.
