              LAKEVIEW - BIRMINGHAM O2 INSTITUTE 2, 04.08.25

Just days after making history as the first country act to perform at Wacken Open Air, Germany’s
elite heavy metal festival, Lakeview are here in Birmingham for the very first time. Not a fan of country
music? You will be, especially when you find out that Lakeview’s blue collar country anthems are infused
              with a rock/metal backdrop.
Observing people as they walk into the venue, you can see how two different genres are intermin-
gling, just by looking at the attire. There are some cowboy boots and there are t-shirts emblazoned with
metal band names. Tonight is definitely the place for heavy metal and country fans to unite and Lakeview
are the band who bring them together.
Seal’s ‘Kiss From A Rose’ pours out of the PA sys-
tem; the calm before the much-welcomed storm. Lake-
view's Jesse Denaro and Luke Healy don’t care that it’s
a Monday night, they are ready to bring the party and
the crowd willingly accept the invite.
Uptempo and catchy, 'Hits Different', from the 'Small
Town Famous' EP, hits just right as a set-opener (no
pun intended). For the next hour the country duo have
the crowd in the palms of their hands, bouncing, clap-
ping and singing along to anthems about beer, trucks,
heartbreak and paying homage to the working class.
Backed by a band (Jordan Tomb - guitar / Alex Drizos -
guitar / Cory Muro - drums) who supply the hard-rocking
drum beats and guitars, the result is one hell of a rau-
              cous, high-energy live performance.
